About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Lighting Designer to join our expanding Lighting Design team. This role is a junior position with the potential to move into a Lighting engineer role and is an excellent opportunity for someone who is working towards their LIA certificate. Your daily duties will include:
- Working as part of a team to create lighting projects from start to finish
- Ensuring lighting specifications are created to meet customer specification
- Producing CAD drawings of lighting layouts
- Work as a team to discuss and implement ideas on projects
- Prepare detailed plans for lighting calculations using Relux & Dialux
- Liaise with the client and other internal departments to discuss ideas, concepts and alternative solutions where required
- Brief and liaise with the Lighting Design Manager, Technical Director and other departments to ensure projects meet the building regulations and compliance
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a motivated individual who is keen to develop within a growing business. Our ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally, with close attention to detail
- Demonstrate a good understanding of lighting fundamentals
- Organisational and numerical skills to manage projects, budgets and specifications etc.
- Be working towards their LIA certificate, or have experience working within a similar role
- Previous experience of working within the lighting industry is desirable, but not essential if working towards LIA certificate
- Experience using lighting design software such as Relux or Dialux
- Experience using AutoCAD and Revit is advantageous
