Securitas have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Intelligence Analyst in the Securitas Intelligence Unit (SIU). This is a position based on site at the Milton Keynes office, Monday to Friday.

Our Junior Intelligence Analyst will collect, investigate, analyse, and produce finished intelligence reports to all levels of audience.

A good knowledge of current affairs and an understanding of the security and threat landscape is essential. This is not an IT / Technical role (i.e programming).

Combining cutting-edge technology, analyst expertise, and a global network of sources, the Securitas Intelligence Unit (SIU) delivers industry-leading intelligence to protect Securitas customers and operations.

The role reports directly into the Intelligence Operations Manager, and is based in the Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Milton Keynes.

Some evening and weekend work as well as travel may be required, to visit customers on occasion. Responsibilities will evolve over time, with opportunities for ongoing development and progression.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Direction of intelligence efforts based on instruction from managers and seniors, colleagues, and clients, and based on own identification and initiative.
  • Collection of data and information, including use of intelligence tools, and manual processes including research.
  • Processing of intelligence into databases, forms, logs, systems, templates etc.
  • Analysis of data and information using recognised intelligence techniques, and supporting seniors with more complex and / or demanding efforts.
  • Production of finished intelligence products autonomously, or with support / supporting seniors, including (but not limited to) alerts, analysis (assessments, reports etc.) and investigations. This includes both written products and verbal presentations.
  • Dissemination of intelligence products to stakeholders, including internally within Securitas, and commercially to customers, both in the UK and overseas.
  • Contributing to Evaluation and Feedback of intelligence services, including maintaining the highest level of consistency and quality.
  • Support the identification and development of new sources and methods of research to ensure that intelligence products reflect latest methodologies and best practice.
  • Maintaining awareness of innovation within intelligence to develop and implement the latest techniques and tactics, best practice, and information relevant to the SIU and own self development.
  • Support management and seniors, and provide guidance to junior colleagues in order to maximise their development, efficiency, and morale.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Securitas organisation, including client facing staff and global colleagues.
  • Work closely in partnership with other internal stakeholders and be willing to challenge the status-quo.
  • Liaise and collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and agencies (both internally and externally) in the UK and internationally to build an intelligence network.

Essential Skills

  • Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable work history
  • Proven ability to research and assimilate large volumes of data and prepare and produce complex research-based reports
  • Good communication, listening skills and able to apply guidance to a specific activity
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own work
  • Good time management and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Willingness to be flexible and learn to develop expertise in specific areas
  • Report-drafting skills, with consistent attention to detail
  • Proficient in office software applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel etc.)
  • Motivated, self-starter able to work autonomously with guidance and support.
  • Willingness to undertake further formal training and development
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers at all levels
  • Ability to work with confidential information

Desired Skills

  • This role is suitable for someone with 1-2 years’ experience in intelligence and/or investigations; previous security operations experience is advantageous but not essential.
