What are we looking for?

Candidates should be 18 years or over before the start date and have the right to live and work in England

For the apprenticeship program we prioritize applicants eligible to government funding for their apprenticeship and for this you need to:
  • Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
  • Be a resident of the UK for the entire duration of the program
  • Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending June 2023 or later
  • Have 3 x GCSE’s at grade 4-9 (A-C) or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English

Please note, you will be required to evidence your qualifications. If you have gained qualifications outside of the UK you will be required to evidence that they are equivalent.

Within this role you will learn developing and creating content that can be used across a variety of media including digital, social media, broadcast or in print. An enthusiasm for technology and creating great online experiences is a must. You will also need to have good communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate effectively in a group of diverse roles. You should also have the ability to come up with ideas from thinking out of the box.

As a Junior content producer at Amazon, you’ll gain a vast range of useful experiences and skills. You will work towards the Level 3 content creator apprenticeship standard

The Content Apprentice works closely with the wider Content and Creative team assisting in delivering world-class content, they also work with other teams such as the marketing, art and design, social, photo studio teams. You will learn content planning, content development, content creation & evaluation as well as building your knowledge of the wider industry via off the job face to face learning, webinars and online videos. You will produce a portfolio of evidence and a reflective blog over the duration of the apprenticeship that will showcase your learning. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on all aspects of the content offering – for example from photo shoots to copywriting and social media. This role is a fantastic training for anyone looking to break into content creation.

You will build your skills over an 18-month period, starting in July, which will help you develop personally and professionally. Your apprenticeship will be made up of;

  • Classroom/virtual based training to cover knowledge
  • On-the-job training your Amazon base location
  • Online learning
  • Mentoring from our experienced team members

Alongside extensive development of your technical skills, you will also grow your abilities in crucial complementary areas like organization, prioritization, data and problem-solving techniques, teamwork, communication, presentation skills and document writing.

You will work alongside the team, supporting with day to day tasks learning how Amazon works and delivers for its customers. As your knowledge and skills increase over the duration of the scheme you will have opportunities to be part of and lead projects, making a difference for customers. The on the job experience will help you build a portfolio of evidence towards your apprenticeship. You will be given dedicated time to focus on your studies to help you stay on track and work towards successfully completing your qualification(s). Once you have successfully completed your Junior Content Producer Apprenticeship you will be able to apply for relevant roles across the business.

You will attend a number of workshops across the duration of the apprenticeship, workshops will be a mix of face to face and online delivery by a training provider. You will also attend internal workshops/ trainings to support you in developing Amazon related skills and knowledge. Depending on the scheme and location of the training provider you may be required to travel and stay overnight. (costs will be supported by Amazon)

Key job responsibilities
You will be combining working in your assigned team as a Junior Content Producer Apprentice whilst continuing your studies to achieve your qualification. As a working student your focus is to complete your studies in your 20% off the job time by learning and developing your skills, knowledge and behaviours to work towards successful graduation. You will be set objectives and goals by your training provider and manager to support your studies.

About the team
Amazon is the perfect place to start your career as a Content Producer. Junior Content Producer apprentices can work across a number of tech and non-tech teams in Amazon working with program managers where they help deliver big or small projects successfully.

As a last step, we will invite successful candidates to an assessment center where you’ll get the chance to meet the recruitment team and the hiring teams that align to the programme you have applied for. As part of the assessment centre, you may be expected to take part in a group exercise, a presentation, 1 to 1 interviews and other tasks relating to your chosen programme.
