WSP are looking for a Freight and Logistics Solution Design Specialist.
Your new role, what's involved?
- Supporting the delivery of our Freight and Logistics projects with responsibility for key aspects of projects with existing and new public and private sector clients.
- Lead the development of strategic logistics transport models in the support of freight strategy and decarbonisation projects and last mile solutions.
- Deliver studies and projects, working closely with other disciplines including Future Mobility, Rail, Marine and Net Zero.
- Assisting with winning and managing new work and ensuring client care; and
- Undertaking data development activities to increase the quality of freight transport data and models,
YOUR TEAM
The role would be based in our Transport Planning team across the UK supporting WSP’s Freight and Logistics offering across government activities, including Local Authority contracts, Sub-National Transport Bodies, National Government, eg DfT, National Highways and Network Rail, national frameworks, city regions, private sector operators and international projects as appropriate.
We specialise in providing transport planning solutions from initial concepts, through planning to full implementation. In doing so, we provide high level advice (including expert witness services) to public and private sector clients on transport related planning and feasibility issues relating to strategy, policy and project/scheme development through to successful business case, supporting major schemes, delivering transport advice for national government bodies as well as sub-national transport bodies.
The role would involve delivering Freight and Logistics projects to support growth led by our Technical Director, Jason Smallwood. The position to be filled is a delivery role supporting potential national responsibilities to deliver work and assist in growing our freight and logistics business.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience of working for a logistics operator in a range of roles including solution design.
- Relevant education and professional qualifications (or working towards), experience in Freight and Logistics, and will have a knowledge of the industry;
- Effective project delivery skills; and
- Technical skills relevant to the delivery of freight and logistics projects, such as logistics data analysis, logistics strategy, construction logistics, fleet decarbonisation and urban/last mile logistics.
