ITV Apprentice- Lighting Electrical Apprentice
Department- Provision
Office location- Yorkshire & Humberside, Leeds
Working pattern - Full time on site
Duration: 48 months (This is a full time role from Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week)
Contract - Fixed Term Contract
Qualification: Level 3 Electrical Installation

The team
Provision has been supplying equipment to the Film and TV industry since 1989.
Owned by ITV Studios, Provision are proud to stake their claim as the North’s leading supplier of location equipment, supplying a broad range of Camera, Lighting, Sound, and Grip equipment from bases in Leeds, Manchester and London.
We boast a long, successful track record across Location Drama, Factual & Entertainment TV, Commercials and Feature Film.
As our New Electrical Apprentice not only will you become a fully qualified Electrician you will learn many new skills within the lighting department from preparation, service and repair of our hire stock, creating props, repairing existing ones, including vehicle and generator maintenance and assisting in deliveries to location.
The role
- Working alongside the workshop electricians in the workshop, fixing hire stock and building new kit
- May also be required to help in the warehouse to prep, test and deliver to production
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- A full manual drivers licence is required after Year 1 (the role involves driving to various locations for training)
- Potential short notice call out to support production requirements
- Able to carry out heavy lifting and carrying large heavy lighting, camera, sound and grip equipment
- Demonstrable interest in learning more about lighting, camera, grip, sound equipment
- A strong interest in the TV industry
- Willingness and ability to learn Google Suite/Docs
- Willingness and ability to work in a customer facing environment
- Willingness and ability to work in a warehouse environment
- Scoring at least 9/10 through the multiple choice application questions
- Descriptive and an originality portrayed within the set application questions
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- A clear understanding & passion for the apprenticeship role you are applying for as well as ITV
- Have a willingness to learn new skills with the appropriate training
- Demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude
- Good understanding of how to use technology in an office environment for example use of the Google suite, zoom
- You will be friendly and approachable, respectful to all of your ITV colleagues
- You’ll have the ability to maintain a positive attitude, even when under pressure and working to deadlines
Eligibility/Entry Criteria
As this is a Level 3 Apprenticeship, we require you to have/be predicted to achieve the below qualifications
GCSE Grades (or equivalent) C/4 or above in English and Maths plus 2 other subjects
There is no upper age limit to an Apprenticeship, we would encourage applications from anyone leaving school, all the way to looking for a career change. Please see below to check you meet the eligibility criteria:
- You have lived within the UK/EEA for a minimum of 3 years consecutively
- You meet the entry criteria for the apprenticeship as listed above
- You have not completed a degree/same level qualification in a similar subject to the role you are applying for
- You cannot have achieved the qualification already and you must not already be in full time education at the point of enrolment
