Job description
Reporting to the Executive Director, Salsa in Toronto Festival, and working alongside senior members of the IT Team, the successful candidate will support and join a dedicated team of special event professionals to help produce and execute the Salsa in Toronto Festival. In this role, the candidate will provide IT support for the event. The individual will gain direct hands-on experience in a positive and encouraging workplace and will acquire valuable career-related experience in STEM and ICT.
This is an 8 week term summer position ending no later than September 1, 2023.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible to providing technical support to users
- Daily monitoring of the IT Inbox and provide quick responses to user issues and escalate issues as needed.
- Responsible for configuring hardware and software, the set up of printers or routers, and repair equipment
- Provide front and back end technical support and solutions for digital assets
- Prepare computers for new users in accordance to job specifications, specific software and access on network domain.
- Ensure IT procedures, workflow and documentation related to processes and platform operations are followed
- Maintain, grant, remove access to MS Office 365, and ongoing updates to groups/distribution lists in 365 and Domain Controller, including security access to network files/folders.
- Maintain licenses and upgrade software when needed
- Other duties and ad-hoc projects as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Minimum 1-2 years working experience in IT industry or customer service support role
- Experience with Microsoft Office Platforms, specifically Office 365.
- Strong technical skills with Windows server OS Basic knowledge of VMWare, Proxmox and of backup service Veeam is an asset
- Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi
- Ability to quickly assess and troubleshoot problems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail and keen problem solver
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, work well under pressure, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a confident, resourceful, dedicated and individual
- Fluent in the Spanish/Italian language would be a distinct advantage
