Our National IT teams support Aldi by delivering our system and infrastructure needs. And you'll head up a specialist team overseeing all the projects we have on the go. It means keeping in touch with the International IT team to ensure we're in line with the bigger picture, while making a case to incorporate specific UK needs.

National IT have an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Professional with demonstrable IT Infrastructure and leadership experience to join the team as an IT Network Infrastructure Manager on a 23 month fixed term contract. Taking responsibility for IT Networks the role will be hybrid working, based at the Atherstone National Office, with a minimum of two days per week in the office.
In this role you will lead a team of IT Network experts and engage with our external service providers to run our existing Infrastructure and plan upgrades and deployments across our estate. An early key focus will be ensuring Wi-Fi stability at existing sites ready for warehouse system upgrades in our Regional Distribution Centres. You will also play a vital role in the setup of a brand-new facility taking shape in the midlands. These are crucial activities that will rely upon your project management capability.
A major success factor will be found in your ability to build great relationships with our business stakeholders. Here you will seek to understand the demands of our operation on the IT Network Service and interpret the findings into actions for your team. You will need to have experience of large-scale IT Infrastructure environments to enable you to provide credible technical guidance and line leadership to drive successful outcomes.
As a Manager in Aldi you will be providing support and development to the individuals in your team through regular update meetings and annual performance reviews.
This role will require regular travel to our Regional Distribution Centres across Great Britain and Ireland. Expect to be visiting key stakeholders at our sites approximately one day every fortnight, with the potential for increase when our application system upgrade commences.

Your New Role
- Proactively work with stakeholders in the business (RDCs, Stores, National offices) to gain an ongoing temperature gauge of IT Network performance in key areas
- Act as interpreter between business stakeholders and your technical team
- Use your IT Networking knowledge to contribute to plans, designs and in coaching your team in their technical activities
- Use your business knowledge and logical thinking to add a practical element to deployment project planning and support efforts
- Form great relationships with our key IT Network service providers
- Lead your team to respond rapidly to Network incidents reported by the business
- Lead your team to trouble shoot and identify route cause of problems in the IT Network
- Handle problem escalations and apply your IT Networking knowledge to drive forwards solutions
- Maintain an understanding of open incidents and actions being taken to pursue a resolution
- Identify trends and steer your team to mitigate against emerging problems
- Drive the demand for a high performing IT Network environment
- Lead your team to fulfil the IT Network installation at new locations
- Guide your team with practical considerations for business downtime and impact resulting from necessary configuration changes or updates
- Liaise with International IT stakeholders to ensure awareness of future demands arising in the area and plan ensuing actions
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of IT policies and ensure compliance within your area
- This role will allow you to test and develop your communication skills, strategic thinking and exposure to the global IT functions of Aldi
About You
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Experience leading and developing teams of a minimum of 5 people
- Able to prioritise the work of others to meet the support and project demands of a large business
- Experience of operating large IT Infrastructure environments
- Able to steer the technical IT Networking efforts of your team
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Have the ability to interpret complicated topics into a message that can be understood by business users
- Experience identifying the impact of changes on the local business and communicate these effectively
- Able to identify practical process improvements to enhance incident resolution times
- Able to run projects and communicate schedules and actions to the business
- Strong communications skills across various formats - influencing others and bringing about change
- Strong customer service and complaint resolution skills
- Proven experience of identifying opportunities and then delivering change to meet them

- Salary starting from £58,715 rising to £90,615
- 5-day/45-hour week, working Monday- Friday, with the opportunity for remote working 3 days per week. With a requirement to be contactable out-of-hours in the case of major incidents
