Our Opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Internal Communications Coordinator, to join the Integrated Airspace Protection Systems (IAS) business within Thales. This role focuses on providing internal communications guidance, planning and delivery expertise to the business as well as communications and engagement activities.
Designed to generate great engagement and involvement, you will help create an environment where employees can give their best each day. You’ll report directly to the Managing Director for IAS with support from the UK Internal Communications Business Partner. This role will work closely with the Executive Team, other stake holders and external suppliers.
Day to day you’ll:
- Support and deliver the annual IAS UK internal communications plan, agreed by the Internal Communications Business Partner and IAS UK Managing Director, ensuring they’re on time and budget.
- Be confident to challenge and offer direction to stakeholders using understanding of communication channels best practice, knowledge of the wider IC strategy and experience as an employee.
- Represent the UK Communications team at events where appropriate and agreed by the Internal Communications Business Partner
- Travel to and provide communications support to relevant sites as required
- Manage the various online and offline communication channels across the IAS UK business
- Be a team player and share best practice across the functional team
- Ensure that campaign deliverables adhere to the Thales Brand Guidelines and match relevant Thales procurement and delivery processes
- Think creatively and use a varied mix of channels and tools when developing communication activities
- Support the IAS UK [& Thales UK] strategic message platform that motivates colleagues to understand and take the appropriate action to achieve our vision and strategy and IAS UK strategic priorities.
- Source, write and edit internal content and publish across a range of channels
- Ensure that all content (intranet news, emails, team briefs, videos, team listening content etc.) is on message and linked back to the overall IAS UK and Thales UK messaging and Ambition vision and strategy.
- Build the ‘Thales Story’ enabling individuals to understand how their day-to-day role contributes to the success of the IAS business both in the UK and in France as well as Thales UK and the Thales Group.
About you:
You’re an excellent communicator both written and oral, demonstrating strong business acumen, with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organisation. A creative storyteller who motivates people to achieve, is outcome focused and measured. Encourages and facilitates a culture of dialogue amongst all audiences. Is proactive and gets out there to understand how our people think and feel.
To be successful in this role, it’s essential you have a strong knowledge of what good engagement looks like, internal communication channels and business as usual communications activities. You’ll need to be able to demonstrate your experience and understanding of business requirements to support the translation into internal communications.
