9 Week Internship- Project Management – Strategic, Regulatory, Compliance

Starting Salary: £22,000 pro rata

Locations: Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds, Guildford and Exeter

About the programme

If you are currently in your second year at university and are considering a career in Project Management, Governance, Regulation or Compliance then we may have the perfect summer internship opportunity for you. Our 9-week internship will provide you with the opportunity to work with our Performance and Regulatory Compliance team to experience elements of the project management lifecycle such as project delivery and planning, financial and process control, and programme management. Ideally you will be able to use your strong analysis skills to help develop, plan or manage strategic projects. You’ll be guided by leading industry professionals who will coach, manage and mentor you. You will support on strategic projects, facilitating programmes and liaising with key external stakeholders such as the Office of Rail and Road and the Department for Transport. You’ll gain an advantageous view of how a large public organisation functions internally and is held to account externally.

We’ll support your development throughout a 9 week summer internship, where you will be working with colleagues from across the National Highways. This is a chance to learn on the job in a large organisation that delivers a £4-5bn annual programme. A great way for you to supplement your final year at University and help you step up into the jobs market when you finish your course.

Our programme offers:

· Starting Salary of £ 22,000 pro rata

· 9 week internship

· On-the-job training with a chance to experience many different aspects of Project Management

· Mentoring programme with senior team members to provide support and guidance.

About you

We are looking for ambitious students who are in at least their second year seeking an internship opportunity. An individual who can thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Good communication skills, both written and oral are also a must, as are the personal skills necessary to work as a member of a team and to maintain good relations with stakeholders. You pride yourself on your integrity, and on the quality of your work. This role will provide lots of opportunity for both personal and professional development in a large evolving organisation.

This role is suitable for students of any discipline, but may be of particular interest to those studying economics, business management, project management, engineering English, or law.

We ask that you hold the following:

· Currently in your second year of an undergraduate degree and on track for a minimum of a 2:2 degree in any subject

· A minimum of a Grade C / Grade 4 in Mathematics AND English Language at GCSE
