Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, the Communications Intern will support public affairs activities for the Corporate Communications department at Sinai Health – with projects at both Mount Sinai and Hennick Bridgepoint Hospitals.
The successful candidate is a strong writer, with a knack for identifying news worthy content for journalists and Sinai Health channels. You are detail oriented, organized and able to adapt to changing priorities. You are able to engage with a variety of stakeholders from patients to senior executives.

This is a hybrid work environment with requirement to work on-site at one of our hospitals minimum three days a week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Media Relations and Public Affairs
- Performing media relations tasks such as monitoring the media line/email,
- Media monitoring, developing media reports and analytics,
- Arranging media interviews and updating media materials
- Developing public relations materials such as fact sheets, one pagers and presentations
Storytelling and Content Creation
- Researching, writing and editing content for newsletters, digital and social media
- Writing, editing and updating content on the intranets or websites as required
Special Projects
- Assisting in the execution of communications strategies to support corporate activities
- Support the implementation of special projects, events and other assignments as required
- A recent graduate or a student in their fourth year of a four-year Bachelor’s degree, final year of an Advanced Diploma or completing a Post-Graduate Certificate Program in Public Relations or Communications.
- Excellent written, listening and presentation skills.
- Positive team player who works collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization.
- Highly motivated and demonstrated success in taking initiative and problem solving.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple competing requests with great attention to detail.
