Job description
The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking Security Systems Specialist I or II. The Security Systems Specialist I and II at EWEB serve as security system and application specialists for EWEB’s Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Digital Video Management System (DVMS), security networks, mechanical security systems, and in the installation, operation, and maintenance of EWEB’s security systems, applications, and devices. This position is open until filled and the first review of applicants will occur on July 31st, 2023. We recommend you get your application materials in as soon as possible.

- Provide technical support for complex hardware and software related to wired and wireless security systems.
- Perform bench testing.
- Configure devices, including mounting, installation, maintenance, and replacement of devices in the field.
- Coordinate with network administrators to validate and deconflict updates for drivers, patches, and service packages.
- Coordinate with vendors and support technicians for design and engineering of security panels and enclosures; selection of power supplies, system controllers, POE injectors, communication modules, etc.
- Maintain high-security mechanical locksets and key control in accordance with mechanical key hierarchy system.
- Program surveillance systems to required parameters and instruct end-users on capabilities of the systems.
- Support risk identification and mitigation planning and implementation projects at Division level.
- Coordinate with IS, Cyber Security, and other departments in physical security needs assessments, plans, upgrades, engineering/design, procurement, installation, testing and validation.
Minimum Training and Experience Required:
Minimum Experience based on level:
- Security Systems Specialist I: Two years of progressive experience with Access Control and Video Management Systems in physical security operations. Must have experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of technical, mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment applicable to security systems.
- Security Systems Specialist II: Five years of progressive experience with Access Control and Video Management Systems in physical security operations or equivalent experience and training. Must have experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of technical, mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment applicable to security systems.
Education: Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technology certifications
Desirable education, experience, training, and certifications based on level:
- Security Systems Specialist II: One year of lead experience.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and education may be qualifying.

The starting annual salary for this position is commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position. The annual salary hiring ranges for the positions are as follows:
- Security Systems Specialist I: $73,897 - $89,032
- Security Systems Specialist II: $85,545 - $103,066

Telecommuting:
This position is based in Eugene, Oregon and it has been approved as a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working on-site. The selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon.
