Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Post secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with the development, implementation and monitoring of Information Security programs.
  • Experience with conducting internal security assessments and forensic investigations
  • Ability to conduct research and stay current with emerging security threats and industry best practices.
  • Ability to develop training material and communicate technical information to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and make recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and ensure deadlines are met.
Desired:
  • CISSP and CISM Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with risk assessments and enforcement risk based policies.

Duties:
The Security Analyst assists in the management of a government wide Information Protection Program. The incumbent is accountable for providing and maintaining effective and economical information protection systems and for ensuring that the information protection needs of Manitoba are met in an efficient manner and that the solutions implemented are appropriate and represent a balance between cost and optimal security. As part of a team of network security analysts within the DTS Security Operations the incumbent will be responsible to participate in the development and implementation of the technical security architecture of the Government of Manitoba. The incumbent will be responsible to prepare for, and provide, security incident response, coordination and communication activities throughout Government and coordination with other security agencies such as the Winnipeg Police, the RCMP, PSEPC and CSIS.
