KEY OBJECTIVES & TASKSOnsite the successful candidate would use the apprenticeship training to support the team in the following functions:
- Investigate problems with the performance of processes or machines.
- Training of new workers in the techniques required to operate the machines or assembly processes.
- Review the individual products passing through the process to identify improvements that can be made by redesign of the product, to reduce (or eliminate) the cost that process adds, or to standardize the components, tooling or methods used.
- Time study using, MTM-UAS (BOSCH Group preferred method).
- Productivity projects Ergonomic Workplace Design Standardization i.e., Control Plans Conducting Method Studies Estimating New Product Labour Costs & Maintaining the Labour Cost System Providing Product & Process Support to Manufacturing & other areas of the business.
- Continually review opportunities for improved "Productivity" - pro-actively pursuing "Best Practice" in working methods.
- Support / alignment with other Bosch Plants
- Maths & English GCSE Level 4 or above
- Good mathematical skills
- Creativity
- Good communication at all levels i.e. shopfloor to director level
- Computer literate
- Team player at all levels
- Able to work independently
- Driving Licence would be preferable
- Keen to develop their skills

Additional Information
Future Prospects & Progression Opportunities:
As a fully qualified Industrial Engineer the successful applicant would have a good overview of business requirements & could enable the candidate to progress down various routes within the company such as becoming the Industrial Engineering Manager, or other areas such as Logistics, Quality, R&D etc as the skills learnt are easily transferable. After gaining experience using the tools learnt, there may be potential opportunities within the Bosch Organisation to move to other Bosch Plants around the world to use the knowledge gained.
Things to Consider:
- Travelling to the various trainings.
- Stopping for several weeks away from home when required (this would happen during the Industrial Engineering Training) i.e., having a driving licence would support this.
Expected Start Date: August 2023
Working Hours: 39 hours a week; Mon – Thurs 08.00 - 17.00 and Fri 08.00 - 16.00 with a 1 hour unpaid lunchbreak
