Job Scope:
The Tool and Die Designer is responsible for the development and preparation of engineering designs and drawings using Solidworks, writing technical specifications and ensuring that design drawings conform to specifications and design data. Responsibilities will include the preparation, interpretation of conventional, and CAD engineering designs, drawings and specifications for machines and components, designing tools, dies, jigs and fixtures for use in manufacturing processes. Need to be adaptable, flexible, accountable and dependable with good attention to detail. Need to have a quality focus following company policies and procedures, maintaining safe work and 5S practices. Work closely with other personnel to support other departments to ensure company goals, time line requirements and customer needs are met.
Job Responsibilities:
· Create engineered designs, drawings and specifications for dies and fixtures
· Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) work stations
- Support tool room with required information
- Check drawings and designs
- Prepare material lists
- Create strip and process layouts
- Compare part drawings with CAD model and quality standard sheet
- Observe setup and tryout of newly developed process in production machine to determine the need for redesign or changes
- Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or reduce production deficiencies
- Maintain drawing control and die design standards
- Update outdated or modified drawings
- Follow Company policies and procedures
- Maintain safety and housekeeping at all times
- Perform other duties and tasks as required by the supervisor or department manager
Qualifications:
· Completion of a two-year college program in Mechanical Engineering Tool and Die; or
· Completion of a three-year college program in Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Automotive Product Design
· Experience in sheet metal stamping/forming
· Strong work ethic, positive attitude and attention to detail
· Good knowledge of GD & T
· Proficient in 3-D CAD Software and Microsoft Office
· Experience in Quality systems such as TS 16949 or ISO
· Ability to work effectively as a team member
· Valid driver’s license
· Organized

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
