Job description
We have a number of vacancies for Industrial Cleaning Operatives to join our Deeside team, working three 8-hour Thursday to Saturday shifts (6am-2pm) (24 hours per week).
This will be on a permanent contract with room for progression. You'll need to have previous Industrial Cleaning experience and (ideally) experience of setup and operation of machinery in a food production environment.
Your main duties will be to carry out a range of cleaning activities in our production areas including all machine cleaning & deep cleans as required to ensure the factory is ready for the next week of production. There will be a requirement to set-up and operate the machinery including conveyor setup and operation, film setup and alignment, bagger operation etc. Full training will be given on our range of equipment.
You will also:
- Ensure that all machines are cleaned to the highest standard:
- Perform a high-temperature, caustic boil-out on an industrial fryer, ensuring all residues are removed from belts, beds, external and internal panels.
- Scrub plastic trays, containers, conveyor belts and machine panels, including all internal and external areas.
- Polish stainless-steel surfaces
- Clean bagger machinery.
- Assist with removing and refitting machines covers and panels.
- Use small hand tools to aid cleaning.
- Operate a jet washer.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained and stored correctly.
- Setup and operate the machinery following any and all cleans, this will include operating the bagging equipment, conveyor belts, setup and alignment of film, cutting off excess etc.
- Continuously checking the quality of product/packaging, immediately highlighting any quality concerns to the line-manager.
- Accurate and timely completion of all required paperwork.
- Conduct product-change over cleans and end of week cleans to exemplary standards.
- Using the test equipment provided, perform cleaning standard verification & post rinse pH safety verification checks.
- Always follow all food hygiene GMP standards, ensuring product safety, quality and integrity is achieved at all times.
- Work alongside the site management team supporting daily routines and workloads.
- Carry out general cleaning duties and/or including outside maintenance work.
- Move items around the production areas as may be required, equipment/furniture moves, ad-hoc tasks and assisting on-site soft service duties and needs of the production department.
- Manage equipment, materials, and stock levels informing management team of any stock requests.
- Promote a safe working environment by following health and safety guidelines.
- Communicate any maintenance or repair needs to the relevant department.
What you’ll need:
- Industrial cleaning experience essential
- Experience operating and setting up production machinery
- Level 2 Food Safety, Health & Safety and Chemical Awareness would be advantageous but not essential. All training will be provided if required.
