Ancestry is looking for a temporary Place Associate. As a Place Associate, you will work with Ancestry's Content department to enrich geographic data. You will assist Ancestry in researching, verifying, and creating current and historical geographic data. As a genealogy company, geography is necessary to Ancestry's goal of enhancing our user experience. As a candidate, you have an eagerness for growth and learning, making decisions, and showing great care for detail. You will complete tasks and projects for publication and use on Ancestry's site. You will report directly to the Supervisor of Content Authorities in Publishing.

What you will do...

• 
  You will verify and edit current geographic data
• You will digitize new geographic data
• You will research and contribute new geographic data

Who you are...

• 
  You have completed or are pursuing a degree in Geography or a related field
• You have experience with GIS software
• You have experience with MySQL
• You show great care for detail and can work on specified tasks
• You have an interest in history or genealogy research
