About the role and our team
We’re looking for an Executive Director of Legal Services within His Majesty’s Attorney General’s Chambers which is a key position within the Office’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Reporting directly to H.M. Attorney General, you will lead the delivery of professional standards, service outcomes and performance in Chambers through the development and maintenance of a service delivery culture.
The roles that you will be the responsible for are the Director of Advisory and Legislation Support, Director of Litigation, Director of Commercial Law, Director of Prosecutions, Director of ICART, Chief Legislative Drafter and the Head of Crown, and work towards developing a team of leaders within Chambers.
You will also be the chair of the Extended Leadership Team (ELT) and will be responsible for co-ordinating decisions which impact more than one Division with a view to ensuring the best outcome for Chambers. As a member of the SLT, you will lead the on-going development of Chambers and support the achievement of key strategic objectives and priorities.
You will be expected to take a lead role in the development of successful working relationships with clients and key stakeholders across Government, thereby facilitating the on-going development of policy and strategy in the delivery of legal services, engendering cultural change and supporting the effectiveness of service delivery.

Please note a standard police check is required for this post, which the Attorney General’s Chambers will cover the cost of for you. Please note if you have lived for more than 6 months outside of the UK in the last 5 years, you will be required to obtain a Letter of Good Standing from the appropriate authorities in the relevant locations, please read the guidance about how to obtain this letter.
A relocation package and interview expenses are not available for this role.
