HR Manager (Remote/Hybrid Working)

Location - Flexible but ideally based in the Worcestershire or Preston area

40 Hours per week Monday to Friday

Salary up to £35,000

We are a leading provider of support services to public and private sector clients. The HR Manager will join the HR team in supporting all companies including Parkwood Leisure, Legacy Leisure, Lex Leisure, 1Life and Glendale Managed Services.

Reporting into the Lead HR Business Partner and part of the wider HR team, we are looking for an HR Manager to join our Human Resources Department in a Regional role. Engaging and supporting the business leaders, managers and key stakeholders at all levels in the business. The HR Manager will support the delivery of the HR people plan by providing an effective HR service, covering the full generalist remit to the multi-site operations in the Regions and across the Divisions as required. As a member of the HR team you will contribute by delivering in key areas including employee engagement, learning & development and talent management providing expert advice and guidance to managers in applying employment legislation and Company policies and procedures. The successful applicant will have a busy and varied workload.

The Role

  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with relevant business leaders ensuring they are supported and coached to help improve business efficiencies.
  • Work with the managers to provide HR expertise to develop their people and to support business objectives by providing technical advice and knowledge on the full employee life-cycle.
  • Take ownership and respond positively and with pace to complex employee relations issues including disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence management both informally and formally within the region/s, supporting and coaching leaders to a timely conclusion.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve working relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
  • Evaluate issues, patterns, and trends to provide proactive insights for HR solution and program designs i.e. training to address certain needs
  • Design and delivery of HR training and coaching to equip managers to drive performance and manage employee relations.
  • Support Business Development and TUPE activity
  • Regular visits to sites
  • Ad hoc tasks and projects as required.
  • Produce monthly MI

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Generalist HR Manager in a fast paced multi-site operation
  • Pragmatic and commercially minded
  • Up to date employment law knowledge and an understanding of its practical application with a commercial approach
  • Sound experience of managing and bringing to a successful conclusion complex ER matters.
  • Excellent people & stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical and goal oriented
  • Demonstrable experience with HR metrics and the use of IT systems to produce statistics and reports
  • Full understanding of all HR functions and best practices
  • Proven ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • CIPD qualified or working towards it.
