Data Protection Administrator GBS

Due to our continuous growth and a focus on the digital transformation of services for both our people and our customers, the Data Protection Team are currently advertising a Data Protection Administrator.
The Data Protection Administrator will ensure that the organisation meets its data protection statutory and compliance requirements by the provision of efficient and effective support to the GDPR Compliance Team leader.
This role will support GDPR Compliance Team leader to work with teams across The Calico Group to ensure that the Data Protection laws are embedded with the organisation and appropriate advice and guidance is given to ensure compliance with the Act and General Data Protection Regulations. This is so customers and staff can be confident that their information is being collected and used lawfully.
Our business is complex and challenging, you will need to have a ‘one-team’ approach to your work, meeting our customers’ needs and providing exceptional customer service.
Your hours of work would be 36.25 hours per week, and you may need to be available to work outside normal office hours, including the possibly of weekend working.
What you’ll need to be a success?
- A good working knowledge of Data Protection and Information Security principles and practice or similar.
- Customer focused.
- Excellent work ethic.
- Ability to competently use IT skills required for the role including wide range of software packages including the comprehensive use of Word and Excel.
- Experience of record keeping, documenting procedures, work instructions and general administrative work both manual and electronic with ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to communicate effectively across a variety of media.
- Good interpersonal, written, and negotiation skills.
- To deal with conflicting demands.
- Planning and organising with ability prioritise own workload.
- Working with the minimum of supervision and or as part of a team.
- Produce quality results with attention to detail.
- Working to tight deadlines
- To be flexible and adaptable in the approach to work to respond to the needs of internal customers.
- Ability to deal with confidential and/or sensitive issues and information.
- Experience of liaising with and assisting managers at a senior level.
