Arqit has built a world-leading team of pioneers in engineering, computer science and cryptography, and we have a new opportunity for an HR Manager, based in London, to support our UK, US and broader international operations.
We are a fast-evolving company and are looking for adaptability and the capacity to solve problems using pragmatic, data-driven methods. The ideal candidate will be someone with high levels of intellect and emotional intelligence, who will contribute to the retention of our existing teams and help us maintain the competitive edge in hiring on a global scale. The role requires a strong command of process and a good eye for detail, numerical literacy and a proactive approach.
The role works in collaboration with the Chief People Officer to operationally serve and support the leadership team and employees on a global basis. We are in the process of scaling the business and HR function and adding complexity to our HR systems, processes and programs. The employees tend to be highly educated, many have entrepreneurial "mindset" and with a focus upon software development, sales and an IT operational background. It is essential candidates are comfortable in this environment.
You will be working predominantly from our high-spec new central London office, and there will be flexibility around working from home 1-2 days per week.
What you will be doing
- Managing all aspects of Human Resources operations and procedures both in our UK head office and internationally
- Managing and continually improving the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to exit
- Working with the Talent Acquisition team to support recruitment and retention of high calibre staff
- Regularly reviewing and benchmarking Arqit's compensation and benefits offering
- Advising and coaching managers to ensure they are equipped to manage their teams effectively
- Advising managers to ensure compliance with all employment laws, company policies, and procedures
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date HR data and HR metrics
- Establishing clear lines and processes between HR, payroll, finance, operations and legal functions
- Developing the employee appraisal and rewards process in collaboration with management and finance
What we're looking for
- Educated to degree level in HR Management and/or CIPD qualified
- Demonstrable success in taking a leading role in a fast-paced, lean HR or people function
- Comfortable working across a range of disciplines and dealing with experts in highly-technical fields
- High level of emotional intelligence and the ability to work with senior stakeholders and the wider business
- Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-change environment
- Strong focus on process, and a good eye for detail.
