Job description
Henley Business School is a globally ranked, internationally renowned business school and part of the University of Reading. Developing individual skills and confidence is at the heart of what Henley Business School is about – here is an opportunity to join an exciting environment in which personal development takes place within a friendly, supportive culture, and in a stunning riverside location.
The Marketing & Reputation department is seeking to recruit an administrator to support activities and events within our research centres – the Henley Centre for Customer Management and the John Madejski Centre for Reputation.
This is a varied and exciting role, requiring you to manage different styles of events, and to build strong relationships with our clients, members, and event delegates. Whilst you’ll benefit from the support of each research centre, the Marketing & Reputation department, and the wider Henley Business School community, this role is largely self-directed – offering you the opportunity to make the events your own and to evolve our processes to make them work best for you. Our patterns of work are evolving to meet individual preferences and the changing nature of work.
The Henley Centre for Customer Management (HCCM) is a long established centre where you will help design and manage the events programme each year, using feedback from our members to create our future programme of workshops, conferences, and research projects. The Centre enjoys support from
some of the country’s leading companies. You’ll also help to develop strong relationships with our members, listening to their feedback to help improve their own experiences as members of the HCCM.
The John Madejski Centre for Reputation (JMCR), founded by Sir John Madejski, has earned an enviable reputation for its work in understanding corporate reputation. You’ll support the development and running of workshops, webinars, and conferences that aim to build networks and communities of academics and practitioners – as well as supporting the high-profile and world-famous guest speakers the Centre invites to Henley.
To succeed as an Department Administrator, you will be organised, efficient and self-driven, with a passion for customer care and an exceptional eye for detail.
You will have:
- Experience within an events-related role, with a proven track record of supporting and delivering high quality events and/or activities to a corporate audience
- Experience within a customer-facing role, with a personal commitment to great customer care – and a passion for interacting with people
- Proven organisational skills – with the ability to prioritise task and activities in a busy environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders and team members
- The ability to use your own initiative and to solve problems, with the drive and enthusiasm to support the team as a self-starter
- A professional manner, with a positive and flexible approach
