Job Purpose
As Penrhiw Priory Housekeeping Assistant, it will be your responsibility to attend to our guests for all their needs from preparing and serving a continental breakfast offer to servicing their rooms and checking them in and out.
What we expect of you:
- Comply with statutory and legal requirements for fire, hygiene, health and safety, licensing and employment law ensuring all colleagues are aware of the legislation and expectations
- Be willing to work in other properties across the group. Be able to work unsupervised in a busy environment.
- Clean and maintain guest rooms, public areas and back of house areas to the company standards.
- Ensure all areas are cleaned with the correct cleaning product in a safe working environment.
- Provide a smooth delivery of service and guest satisfaction at all times to anticipate guests’ needs and be aware of all written and spoken requests and carry them out in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Work at an efficient pace to ensure guest rooms are completed prior to their arrival.
- Liaise with the Head Housekeeper and Laundry Assistants regarding what linen is required and advise of any shortfalls or stained items.
- Complete the room checklist to ensure each room is fully stocked.
- Make the beds according to the company standards.
- Report any guest lost property to the Head Housekeeper.
- Report any faults or maintenance issues promptly to the Maintenance department.
- Respect a guest’s personal property and try not to move any items, especially those that look expensive or fragile.
- Respect a guest’s privacy by always knocking and allowing time for a guest to answer before entering a room.
- Wear the correct uniform in line with company standards and understand the importance of good personal hygiene.
- Support your colleagues in all other departments with their operational duties when required. This included assisting on reception by answering the phone.
- Be present during event operations including Weddings, Events, Christmas, New Year, Easter, School and Bank Holidays as required.
- Promote the other departments within the group at every given opportunity in order to maximize group sales.
- Develop and maintain positive one team relationships with all colleagues throughout the Group.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by colleagues and your line manager.
What We Are Looking For:
As Housekeeping Assitant you are always working on behalf of our guests and working with other team members. To successfully fill this role, you should ideally have:-
- Genuine passion for the hospitality industry and a desire to drive the company’s reputation forward.
- Possess exceptional guest service skills with a can do attitude.
- Previous experience as a Housekeeper or Cleaner.
- Superb attention to detail.
- Good command of the English language.
- A good approach to teamwork.
- The ability to work well under pressure and in a busy environment.
- Flexible attitude to working patterns over 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
