Job description
We are a manufacturer of orthopedic components/materials manufactured to high specifications for the medical industry. Our main focus is to supply high quality medical products to exacting customer and international specifications, supported by our technical department which is capable of testing polymeric materials to the highest standards. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Direct Compression Moulding Department.
Key Accountable Areas:
· Set up and operate compression moulding machines to mould polymer powder products according to specifications
· Install dies on press, using clamps, bolts, and hand tools, and coats dies with parting agents, according to work order, setting thermostat to regulate temperature of dies
· Weigh premixed compounds and loads compound into die well, spreads fabric on die and loads compound over fabric
· Presses button or pulls lever to activate machines to compress compounds between dies to form and cure specified products
· Remove cured products from mould, using hand tools and air hose
· Observe machine operation and examines products ejected by machines to determine whether products meet specifications, using callipers
· Operate compression moulding machines to form product under pressure only and be designated Cold-Moulding-Press Operator
· Identification of problems and determine an action plan to solve the problems

Required Qualifications:
· 3 GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent qualifications
· Previous experience in a factory / manual role
Hours of Employment
· 14.00 to 22.00 Monday to Friday which includes breaks
· Due to the nature of the work, you may be expected to be flexible with regards to working hours and breaks to enable the best efficiency and utilisation during the daily period
· Duties and hours may vary dependent upon workload
