EMPLOYEE ACCOUNTABLE TO Horse Ride Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES
The horse ride helpers will be responsible for helping to ensure that the horse rides for visitors at Acorn Farm are carried out in a smooth, safe and efficient manner. The highest standards of health and safety must be observed at all times
DUTIES
- Assisting with grooming the horses and tacking up
- Leading the horses and bringing in to the mounting block
- Side walking the riders
- Assisting riders to mount and dismount safely
- Collecting tickets, giving out numbers and fitting an appropriate size of hat
- Ensuring that the riders have no loose clothing which may become entangled
- Supervising visitors waiting to ride
- Picking up droppings from the school and depositing them on the midden
- Ensuring that full attention is paid to the job in hand at all times
- Any other task which may be reasonably assigned to you
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have the ability to get on with the public together with enthusiasm for the job.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Salary NMW
Hours 1.15 to 3.15 pm (Monday to Friday during school holidays
except for bank holidays)
On occasion if there is a birthday party booked, you may be
required to come in at 12.45 pm
Holidays 6 days (pro rata equivalent of 5.6 weeks per annum)
Please note that mobile phones must be switched to silent while the horse rides are in progress and may only be used in an emergency.
School Holiday Dates
3rd– 14th April excluding 7th & 10th (BH)
29thMay – 2nd June excluding 29th May (BH)
20thJuly – 1st September excluding 28th August (BH)
23rdOctober – 3rd November
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary contract
Part-time hours: 10 per week
