Job description
The Desktop Support Services provider will work with technology provisioning and asset management functions to provide effective deskside services to staff. They will work directly with end users to troubleshoot technical issues not suited for remote support. They also will image and asset tag equipment, as well as deprovision equipment and manage stock levels in the technology warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Provides ongoing installation, configuration and routing maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Implements modifications and enhancements as required.
- Completes assigned project work in accordance with established project plan process steps.
- Recognizes and resolved typical problems selecting solutions from established operating procedures and/or problem-solving methods.
- Administers hardware and peripherals inventory including ordering asset tracking and disposals.
- Provide technical support by telephone, email, and in-person for applications, hardware, telecommunications equipment, connectivity issues including remote access following standard processes and guidelines.
- Ensures tracking / inventory of IT devices is done within the Technology Warehouse in a timely and orderly manner
- Shipping and receiving of IT Assets from the Head Office in Ottawa
Requirements
- Provide deskside support services to local clients in the Ottawa office.
- Image and provision laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
- Perform initial troubleshooting on possibly complex IT problems.
- Develop and maintain procedure documentation as required.
- Receive and unpack equipment to be provisioned to end users.
- Knowledge of Windows 10 and the Microsoft Office suite required.
- Knowledge of iOS and MDM concepts considered an asset.
- Experience provisioning and supporting Microsoft Surface-family devices.
- MCP, MCSA, MCSE, or other Microsoft certifications an asset
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to set and prioritize work
- Customer Focused, able to provide in person support to all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to speak French (asset)
