This is a really exciting time to join the ED team as a Healthcare Assistant working in the fast moving & challenging environment of Emergency Nursing. Your role will include supporting the nursing team to, provide a high standard of care.

Whilst we serve a mostly rural population we are also a designated Trauma Unit and have a track record in handling major incidents successfully which offers a varied and challenging patient workload and the number of attendances is growing. We work closely with the ambulance service and specialist teams both within the hospital and in the community to ensure that we provide the right care, at the right time.

Assisting the registered nurses in the assessment and care required for patients attending to the Emergency Department; completing basic interventions, such as ECG's, observations, venepuncture and cannulation, and working towards further extended roles such as application of plaster of paris casts and simple dressings.

We will also support the opportunity to develop further with additional training to become a Nursing Associate.
