We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a keen interest to making a difference to patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to provide fundamental care to meet patients' needs whilst working alongside other healthcare professionals within the multi-disciplinary team. Ward 2b Head and Neck surgery provides a vast range of training and learning opportunities to provide a positive patient experience and development for healthcare professionals. We are keen to have someone join the team who is willing to learn, works well within a team and self-motivated to initiate and prioritise workload.
The candidate would show excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team and autonomously. The candidate will need to be approachable, act as a role model and uphold the best standards of care for patients. The candidate will need to show ability to work effectively under pressure and manage challenging situations.
We have 21 Registered Nurses, 2 Registered Nursing Associates, 2 Trainee Nursing Associates and 10 Healthcare Assistants within our team on Ward 2b. We care for a variety of surgical patients including head and neck and maxillofacial surgery. We have exciting opportunities for career development at trust study days and ward based training sessions delivered by specialty consultants. The ward are very proud to have been awarded a GEM award for excellent support of students in their learning during placement. As a healthcare assistant on ward 2b you will be involved in meeting patients' fundamental aspects of care and assisting in activities of daily living such as fluid and nutrition, mobility, personal care needs, pressure area care and monitoring and recording patient observations. You will be working within the ward nursing team and communicating with a range of healthcare professionals, patients and their families. You will need to prioritise workload and report back to the designated nurse caring for patient. You will need to follow Trust policies and procedures and complete mandatory training within the Trust.
