We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our clinical team and contribute to the development and ongoing success of Wear Recovery, whilst making lasting changes to the local community. Individuals will need to be motivated, enthusiastic, committed and driven in order to meet the expectations of this challenging and rewarding role.
You will be committed to a positive, holistic and empowering approach to improving the overall health and wellbeing of our client group. Working with service users to initiate recovery from drug and alcohol dependence, to enable service users to build their own recovery capital and to support them to move into long-term sustained recovery and social (re)integration.
As part of the Healthcare Assistant role you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of health and well-being interventions to our client group, including blood borne virus testing, blood pressure monitoring, ECG’s, drug and alcohol screening and needle exchange.
You will support the Nursing team and work alongside colleagues – including peer mentors - to ensure an integrated package of care including psycho-social, harm reduction and medically assisted structured interventions and support with recovery sustainment to improve the quality of life for the service user, their families, and the community.
The post holder will provide support within core services and at various sites within the community including being a hospital liaison point of contact for the local hospital to facilitate referrals into the service in a timely manner.
