Live Life Better Derbyshire (LLBD) is Derbyshire County Councils lifestyle service and supports people to identify their holistic health & wellbeing needs and provides weight management, smoking cessation and physical activity services across Derbyshire.
LLBD are looking to recruit two highly motivated Health Improvement Workers to focus primarily on the Community Health Improvement element of the role. Travel across the county will be required for both positions, however we are recruiting for one health improvement worker to be based in each the following localities;
- Bolsover (Based at The Arc, Clowne)
- Amber Valley (Based at Godkin House, Ripley)
The successful candidate will contribute to the health improvement of the population with a primary focus on engaging with the local community. The successful candidate will support Live Life Bette Derbyshire by attending community events to promote lifestyle services, support clients to complete our Health and Wellbeing assessment either in community or over the telephone at our central hub and support/signpost people to local organisations and services. You may also be asked support the work of NHS Health checks and the National Childhood Measurement Programme (NCMP) when requested.
Strong partnership working skills will be required to ensure LLBD is embedded in the local community. It is also essential that the successful candidates have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people. Awareness of barriers that may prevent a client accessing essential support or making a lifestyle change is key.
An excellent level of IT literacy, including proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and 365, along with the ability to adapt to bespoke databases is a key requirement of this role
Due to the nature of the service the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability and commitment to undertaking a comprehensive range of duties as well as demonstrating flexibility in order to meet the demands of the service. As the role involves dealing with sensitive information and vulnerable individuals it is essential that the successful candidates have a knowledge of confidentiality and GDPR.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.
Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
