Health Care Assistant (phlebotomist):
(37.5 hours between the hours of 7am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, as well as the occasional Saturday am 8 - 12 which will be paid as overtime.)
The Hollies Medical practice is looking for an enthusiastic healthcare assistant, to join our busy team at the Hollies Medical Practice. The Hollies is a friendly practice based on the edge of Tamworth town centre and provides care to almost 16,000 patients.
You will:
Take blood samples from patients.
Assist with patient examinations and procedures
Perform basic patient observations and accurately record results on the clinical system
Perform ECGs
Assist with housekeeping in the clinical rooms.
Liaise with Doctors, Nurses and other members of the team to provide a quality service for patients.
Carry out other duties associated with the role of the Health Care Assistant.
We require you:
To have the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with patients
To be computer literate.
To work with confidential and sensitive information.
To ensure high levels of accuracy are maintained in all aspects of work.
To be confident to work independently and as part of a team.
The successful applicant will ideally be a qualified phlebotomist with a good general education, (a minimum of 5 GCSE grades A*-C or NVQ level 2 in Health Care, or, equivalent.)
The ability to carry out medical checks e.g. blood pressure, height and weight, ECGs is desirable but training will be provided. The successful applicant will be able to communicate effectively with patients, carers and members of the team and show an understanding of patient confidentiality rules.
