Wimbledon High School are currently recruiting for the role of Health and Safety Officer. This position is well-suited to a diligent and meticulous individual looking for their next professional challenge.
As Health and Safety Officer you will be providing a vital and important service in keeping our staff and students safe. On a day-to-day basis, you will provide a professional and operational Health and Safety Service to the School. This will include implementing a practical, consistent and proactive system of support, advice and guidance to the Director of Finance and Operations (DFO), as well as to the Senior Leadership Team and Heads of Department, advising on a range of day-to-day Health and Safety queries. As Health and Safety officer, your expertise will be required to provide guidance in the application of GDST Head Office Health and Safety policies and procedures, liaising with GDST Health and Safety as appropriate. On a more localised basis, you will also develop, review and update current Health and Safety processes and procedures to support the needs of the School.
To ensure the smooth running and implementation of Health and Safety procedures, you will need to have excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines. You will be systematic in your approach to tasks, with a meticulous attention to detail. As you'll be interacting with a variety of our staff on a day-to-day basis, it is essential that you have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and relate well with people on all levels. Prior Health and Safety experience is a must, as well as the attainment of a IOSH Managing Safely Diploma.
This role is part-time, working 3 days a week and can be available as either a term-time role or all-year round. The start date for this position will be the 3rd of January 2023. The salary range for the role is £36,000 to £38,000 FTE.
