Health & Safety Manager

We are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join our dedicated team in Manchester.

As the Group continues to grow, we are looking for a driven Health & Safety professional who is passionate about ESG.
Role Responsibilities;
- Provide Legislative and regulation advice to the senior management team on all matters relating to HSEQ
- Liaise with registration bodies, customers, and suppliers as necessary to resolve HSEQ problems.
- Responsible for maintaining quality accreditations for ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001ensuring periodic audits are scheduled to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Responsible for enforcing the internal HSEQ audit schedule to ensure all group sites comply with the requirements of quality accreditations.
- Drive the business to understand our current carbon footprint and work towards our ESG goals
- Maintain the management system and identify and implement initiatives to improve it including all procedures, processes, safe systems of work, offering support and advice on Risk Assessments, Method statements and COSHH.
- Support area offices in respect to third party HSEQ audits.
- Ensure all sites are working in a standardised approach to the quality standards and service delivery established by the senior board.
- Establish the minimum standard of HSEQ qualifications required by site office representatives, manage, and maintain quality training requirements for office representatives.
- Overall responsibility/ authority for all incidents and accident investigations.
- Record near misses, ensuring interim and corrective actions are put in place and lessons learnt are communicated.
- Undertake health and safety inductions for new starters and carry out HSE training (or source training providers) as and when required
- Oversee stock levels of PPE and sign off on ordering requirements
- Advise the group on legislative and regulation updates, ensuring all QMS documentation is kept up to date as required.
- Client support on HSEQ matters/ Audits.
- · Advice, guide, support, promote awareness and coach all personnel with the implementation of the company’s policies and procedures. Complete other projects at the request of the Management.
- Deliver Health, Safety and Environmental campaigns ensuring visual management tools are used.
- Be proactive in leading the line on health, safety, and environment.

- A strong communicator (both written and verbal) with attention to detail
- Organised with excellent time management skills
- High levels of drive and enthusiasm
- Flexible and adaptable
- Able to prioritise, and work to deadlines without supervision
- Ability to coach, train and inspire behavioural safety
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a relationship builder
- Resilient and driven with strong IT skills (experience of Microsoft Office and Excel)
