Downside School is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 11 to 18, and one of England's oldest and most distinguished Catholic schools. We are situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills, twelve miles south of the city of Bath.
Are you a Human Resources professional who provides outstanding strategic and operational leadership and first-class people services? You may be a HR Manager or a Senior HR Business Partner looking for your next move, or a Head of HR looking for a fresh challenge. Working as part of a supportive Senior Leadership Team you will play a key role in shaping the people strategy and will work with an experienced Board of Governors, Head and Senior Leadership Team on shaping and delivering the Schools strategy.
You will have a flexible approach and the ability to work across all levels of a busy 24/7 boarding school. You will have as a minimum a CIPD Level 5 qualification or be able to demonstrate substantial experience in a senior HR role. You must have excellent communication skills, be able to manage multiple work streams and work to deadlines. It would be particularly advantageous if you had a background within the independent school sector.
The ability to demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding of children and young people and to the Catholic and Benedictine ethos of the School is of high importance.
