Holmen Iggesund is a Swedish company and a member of the Holmen Group. The Workington Mill produces premium paperboard under the brand Incada. Our paperboard is an integral part of the shopping experience for our clients’ customers. Since 2013 we have powered the mill almost entirely by fossil fuel free energy. Our integrated pulp and paperboard mill is located to the west of the beautiful Lake District in the north of England.
Your future challenge
Best in class engineering is integral to the success of our mill. We are seeking a proactive and astute senior leader to join the mill management team, reporting to the Operations Director. Capable of driving improvements in engineering maintenance, with a proven track record of engaging teams and gaining outstanding results.
You will be safety-conscious, ensuring your experienced team have the competence and knowledge to undertake processes safely whilst ensuring maximum machine uptime. Working closely with production colleagues, ensuring overall equipment efficiency targets are reached and preventative maintenance activities are successfully embedded into our routines.
You will be responsible for compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards and engineering area budgets.
To succeed in this role
The successful Head of Engineering will possess and/or demonstrate:
- An Engineering/Science Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Excellent, applied knowledge of world class modern maintenance practices, including criticality assessment, maintenance strategies, condition-based maintenance etc.
- Significant and relevant experience of senior leadership, organisation development and change management.
- Training or a qualification in health and safety.
Desirable but not essential you would possess knowledge of pulp and paper processes, budget and financial control.
