Job description
We are looking for a greenkeeper to join our team. The candidate needs to be a good communicator with an an eye for detail and be able to problem solve on the go. As you will be working as part of a team and also on your own, the candidate must have excellent timekeeping skills and a willingness to learn whilst taking great pride in your work.
Transport is essential due to the location of the job.
Duties to include:
- General maintenance of the course & driving range & other associated tasks when needed
- Cutting greens, tees, fairways, semi rough, rough & tree lines using ride on mowers
- Bunker edging & raking
- Strimming, hedge trimming & use of various hand held power tools
- Responsibility to look after & maintain machines/tools
- Watering of greens during the summer
- Be flexible and accommodate the needs of players
- Monitor and evaluate the conditions of the course in order to ensure that play is possible at all times.
- Knowledge of machinery/tool maintenance would be advantageous but not essential
- In winter we service & maintain all our own machines & sharpen all of our cutting units
- Prepared and equipped to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Work hours:
37.5 hours per week. 7.5 hours per day
Although hours are set times, these will vary throughout the year depending on daylight hours & temperatures etc
Typical hours are 6am to 2pm summertime & 7.30 to 15.30 wintertime
You will also be required to work 1 in 3 weekends typically from May to November, generally for no more than 3 hours per day which will be paid in addition to your base salary.
