Starting salary of £24,000 plus overtime
An opportunity has arisen to join our busy team, based at Southampton. We are looking for a Grain Terminal Site Operative to join us on a permanent full-time basis.
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, enjoys multitasking and has a full driving license. This role requires a flexible approach to working hours during busy periods.
Ideal candidate
- IT literate with some experience of using Microsoft office
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work at height, in confined spaces and happy to work inside and out in all weather conditions
- Able to cope under pressure and work towards deadlines
- Have a full UK driving license
- Self motivated, solution focused and effective team player
The role – Key responsibilities
- Assisting with general operative tasks to enable the safe storage, testing and export of grain and pulse commodities (i.e wheat, barley, oats & beans)
- Ensure good housekeeping and hygiene of the site/buildings is maintained and within capability, non technical general maintenance in and around site
- Prepare and maintain records and attend training on & off site to comply with site quality, health & safety rules and procedures
- Operating machinery across the site including the shiploader
