This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and suitably experienced individual to work as a Health Care Assistant within the services in Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT).
Our wards are looking for a compassionate and person- centred experienced Healthcare support worker with an ability to work in a flexible manner to meet the demands and needs of the services.
The successful applicant would be expected to work as part of the team undertaking the assessment, care and treatment of patients experiencing an acute mental health crisis, working in a recovery-orientated manner towards the ultimate discharge of the patient.
WhatYOUoffer SPFT:
- Work with the multi-disciplinary team to establish and deliver a therapeutic programme of care for our patients.
- Undertake care duties for patients on the ward.
- Report patients condition to qualified staff.
- Document care delivery in patients notes.
- Implement individual patient care plans.
- Participate in meetings, training and other work related forums.
- Full Training and Induction provided and paid.
- Enhancements for Weekends, Bank Holidays and Night shifts.
- Annual Leave allowance is 12%, this is added to each shift payment.
- There will be opportunities to work over a 24/7 rota including weekend and bank holidays.
- Flexibility to work Trust-wide in Sussex.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
In order to be a successful Healthcare Assistant in our team you will:
- Have a recognised qualification in an area related to the workplace or equivalent technical/life skills
- Be fit to undertake any duties related to the role including physical interventions for the management of violence and aggression
- Have experience working as part of a team
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have evidence of a commitment to lifelong learning
- Have a professional and friendly demeanour
- Have experience working within a mental health setting
- NVQ Level 2 in care
