The role
We are looking for engineering graduates and managers that hold at least NVQ4 in a construction related qualification, to join a specialist rail infrastructure supplier You will be delivering high profile public transport and public amenities contracts, and have the opportunity to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary design teams. You will have the freedom to grow and gain experience from a wide range of projects.
What you’ll be doing
You will be a valuable addition to our experienced delivery team, from Tender, contract award, enabling works through to practical completion and handover. You will apply and develop your engineering expertise and creativity to shape our projects. Through your appreciation of client needs and your attention to detail, you will maximise value for our clients whilst minimising environmental impact.
- To work as part of the larger delivery team, from enabling works through to practical completion.
- Assist with contract procurement routes, selecting appropriate contractors and professional teams.
- Provide project direction, focus and consistency to contractors.
- Undertake site visits and assessment.
- Production of specification and estimates
- Production of Risk Assessment and Method Statements.
- Administration of Resources and Coordination of Works.
- Management of sub-contractors and third parties
- Production of project related documentation (WPP,TB/SWMP/ESMP/TMP)
- Produce safety documentation including, Construction Phase Plans, Method Statements / Works Package Plans, Task Briefings
- Work with site management, consultation, preparation and co-ordination.
- Site Inspections, Interim inspections and completion certificates where required.
- Attend site as required to ensure progress is being made in line with programme and budget.
- Issue early warnings and client communications

- Have a Civil Engineering related degree
- Have an NVQ4 and Site management experience working for a sub-contractor
- Have experience with construction drawings and setting out
- H&S experience and generating RAMS, CPP and ITP
- Have excellent communication and management skills
- Have excellent organisational and admin skills
- Must be willing to work occasional unsociable hours and weekends to deliver critical upgrades for critical projects.
- Must be willing to work unsocial hours (railway & road closure).
- Must be willing to travel to head office in West Thurrock.
- Travel to central London infrastructure (travel included in basic package).
