The Health Team
Our Health team are hiring exceptional public affairs consultants to work within our public health policy offer. As governments and policymakers worldwide are grappling with continued covid-19 pressures, stretched health systems and weakened economies, we support our clients globally, across Europe and in the UK with issues that define the future of public health policy.
Our Health team brings together specialists in healthcare policy, public affairs and communications. You will be joining a team of consultants with unrivalled first-hand PA and PR experience at the highest level.

Senior Consultant – Health Global Policy & Public Affairs
The Health team at Portland is looking for an exceptional senior public affairs consultant (Account Director – Associate Director) to support our growing global health policy and public affairs work.
The role & key responsibilities
- The work you do at Portland will be career-defining: the successful applicant will be working on global public health issues that will define post-pandemic health policy for years to come.
- We are looking for an inquiring mind able to stay ahead of a fast-moving policy environment, with the ability to be across complex detail while keeping an eye on overarching strategy and impact.
- Supported by some the best consultants in the industry, you’ll be expected to lead workstreams, feed into overarching strategy, draft complex policy positions and high-level public affairs narratives, plan and execute global stakeholder engagement and become a trusted adviser to your clients.
- You will have strong experience in delivering public affairs programmes across the pharmaceutical and/or health sector.
- Ideally, you will have experience of both UK and EU/global public health policy and public affairs. If your expertise is focused on one of these, then a willingness to apply your experience to the other is essential.
Consultant – Health Global Policy & Public Affairs
The Health team at Portland is looking for an exceptional public affairs consultant to support our growing global health policy and public affairs work.
The role & key responsibilities
- We are seeking a Consultant to help lead our global public health policy and public affairs work. The role is likely to suit someone currently working at Account Manager/Senior Account Manager level or equivalent
- The work you do at Portland will be career-defining: the successful applicant will be working on global public health issues that will define post-pandemic health policy for years to come.
- We are looking for an inquiring mind able to stay ahead of a fast-moving policy environment, with the ability to absorb complex detail and anticipate strategic and client needs.
- Working with a team of some the best consultants in the industry, you’ll be expected to lead projects, feed into overarching strategy, draft complex policy positions and high-level public affairs narratives, execute global stakeholder engagement strategies and become a trusted adviser to your clients.
- You will have experience in delivering public affairs programmes across the pharmaceutical and/or health sector.
- Ideally, you will have experience of UK and/or EU/global public health policy and public affairs. If your expertise is focused on one of these, then a willingness to apply your experience to the other is essential.
Associate Consultant – Health Global Policy & Public Affairs
The Health team at Portland is looking for an Associate Consultant (Executive/Senior Account Executive) to support our growing global public health policy and public affairs work.
The role & key responsibilities
- We are seeking an Associate Consultant to help lead our global public health policy and public affairs work.
- The candidate will have at least 18 months experience working full-time in a consultancy or in-house at a relevant organisation or company, with a demonstrable interest in global/UK policy and public affairs and health sector issues.
- The work you do at Portland will be career-defining: the successful applicant will be working on global public health issues that will define post-pandemic health policy for years to come.
- We are looking for an inquiring mind exciting by working in a fast-moving policy environment.
- Working with a team of some the best consultants in the industry, you’ll work on researching and drafting policy positions and high-level public affairs narratives, executing global stakeholder engagement strategies and contributing to overarching strategy and client counsel.
