Gas Appliance Test Engineer
Loughborough, Leicestershire
Up to £30K basic depending on experience
Do you understand the importance of testing products and/or services primarily for safety, efficiency, and fit for purpose? Due to a huge period of growth within BSI, we're looking for a Test Engineer – Gas Appliances to join our existing team and carry out test work across a broad range of products.

The role:
Working within a team of testers focused on the safety of Gas products, this role offers real diversity and variety, where you will have the opportunity to work across a wide variety of gas appliances, manufacturers, and tasks.
Strong communication and project management skills are at the heart of this role. You’ll have constant interaction and engagement with clients at a variety of levels, from technicians to Directors. This role is perfect for an engineer who is looking to apply their technical ability in a client focused role.
To be successful in this role you’ll need the skills to build relationships with our clients, understand their requirements and then deliver this work autonomously.
You’ll be managing multiple projects so strong project management skills are a must. With this you’ll need to use your strong interpersonal skills to confidently present findings to our clients about their products, to be successful in the role, ideally you will have the following:
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Experience & knowledge in engineering with proven experience as an engineer with exposure to gas appliances.
- Experience in testing gas products/appliances in either a lab environment or for a manufacturer
- Gas safety registered
- At least a HND in discipline related to gas or have substantial experience.
- Good communication skills and the ability to write clear and concise reports.
- Proactive customer focused approach.
- Ability to work as a team and to tight time scales.
- Resourceful and solution orientated
- IT literate in Word and Excel
