Outplay Entertainment is on the hunt for a visionary Lead Game Designer, ideally someone with experience in shepherding games from conception through to production. As the Lead Designer, you'll play an integral part in crafting world-class gaming experiences and pushing the boundaries of mobile gaming.

Role Essentials

• Proven ability to lead and inspire a team to deliver top-tier quality.
• Significant experience in prior game design roles.
• Expertise in designing and documenting core loops, features, and LiveOps events (including wireframes and flow diagrams).
• Successful track record in liaising with development teams to bring designs to life.
• Deep understanding of free-to-play games, including design and balancing of retention, engagement, and monetisation features.
• A personal interest in, and understanding of, the casual puzzle genre.
• Proficiency with Unity is a plus.

Your Key Duties:

Team Leadership

• Supervise and mentor your team, driving continuous development, training, and career planning. Your role will also involve recruitment and talent planning.
• Support Mid-Level and Junior Designers, ensuring their work meets Outplay’s standards. You’ll challenge them to continually grow and excel in their roles.
• Play a proactive role in nurturing a positive team culture and morale.

Game Design

• Collaborate with the Department Manager and other Leads to set the design vision for the studio.
• Craft and communicate the creative vision for your game, partnering closely with your team and other key stakeholders.
• Drive key aspects of the game, such as new feature development, LiveOps event design, and implementation.
• Oversee live content creation, balancing, and revisions, stepping in to assist when necessary.
• Anticipate potential issues, providing clear direction and troubleshooting as needed.
• Report on design progress and effectively represent your project(s) within Outplay.
