Our client is part of the larger group of clinics, who are a friendly, compassionate and progressive group. Established for over 25 years, they have 9 branches across the West Midlands, East Midlands, and Staffordshire.
The practice itself, provides a spacious, light, and airy perfect working environment with its recently refurbished large, bright reception and consultation rooms. They have separate theatre, prep room, x-ray room with digital x-ray, Dental x-ray, doppler ultrasound, endoscope, and in-house lab. ISFM cat friendly clinic. Based in an excellent location close to the M6 and M5 motorways, within easy access to Birmingham with its train links and the rest of the country as well as two nearby airports.
There is a loyal client base and the practice with its dedicated, friendly, experienced team are highly trusted within the local community for providing exceptional veterinary care. They have the facilities and resources to enable their staff to work in a low stress, well organised, supportive, friendly, family feel atmosphere. Maintaining a good working environment, staff wellbeing and job satisfaction for all staff is of high importance to them which is proven in their low staff turnover and longevity in service, some of the team having been with the group from the beginning.
The team of vets, nurse and receptionists are a fun loving and friendly group who work well together. There is a very positive supportive culture, and they regularly get together socially. Within the group the nursing teams include people with advanced Diplomas in a wide variety of areas including anaesthesia, Emergency and Critical Care, Feline Nursing, and behaviour so this is a great opportunity for someone who wants to increase their skills and knowledge. They have experienced Vets with interest/cert studying in Surgery, Medicine, and Ophthalmology. They also have further cert holders in Surgery, Exotics, and Imaging. They actively encourage certificates, offering funding, CPD and support to all their team members.
Wellbeing is of great importance to the management team, who are very approachable, supportive both inside and outside of the workplace. They endeavour to ensure that the practices have some down time, whether it be closing the doors for a couple of hours for coffee and cake, a meal out or bowling. They work very closely with local charities and the community, sponsoring the towns junior football team, visiting local schools to talk about working in a Vet practice and the clinic often host fund raising events from dog shows to coffee mornings in practice.
They are looking for a motivated, experienced RVN who is looking to take the next step in their career and join the team as Head Veterinary Nurse. You will be working alongside the Senior Vet and management team to ensure the practice needs are met and leading the nursing team to provide exceptional care for pet and client alike. They are looking for a nurse who is driven, with the ability to offer a progressive forward-thinking management style and is committed to animal welfare team. You will be highly motivated, forward thinking and a proactive nurse with strong communication and people skills in order to lead the team to deliver exceptional clinical and client care. The candidate must be a good team player, able to work on their own initiative, adaptable, flexible and have excellent all-round nursing skills. As Head Nurse you will play a key part within the management team to ensure financial and operational performance of the practice as well as the overall team performance and Wellbeing. Leadership experience in a similar role preferred but training and full support is available for the right candidate. This is a training practice supporting student nurses so holding a clinical coach qualification or willing to train would be advantageous but not necessary. This role would be suitable for someone with the want to further develop to their full potential and wishing to advance their career.
The role is a permanent, full-time position based on a 4-day week with a regular day off and share of the weekend rota. No OOH’s. Salary for this role is up to £32,000 depending on experience.
