Job description
Hot Numbers Coffee Ltd is a vibrant and independent coffee roasting business serving fresh and exciting food at our three busy cafés in Cambridgeshire. Our Roastery Café in Shepreth is also the base for our commercial bakery and pizzeria.
We are looking to recruit full-time and part-time experienced Front of House members to join our team at our Trumpington and Gwydir Street Cafés.
As a Front of House team member, you will need to work cohesively with staff and will be responsible for day- to- day tasks under the guidance of the Café Manager, Assistant Manager and Supervisors, to ensure that the Company's key goals are maintained. This includes excellent customer service and café cleanliness. Your line managers in this role are the Café Manager, Assistant Manager and Supervisors.
Main Duties and Skills:
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Work well within the front of house team, taking on tasks as given to you by Line Managers, as well as cultivating your own initiative.
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers and ensuring they feel welcomed.
- Good knowledge of both food and drink menus within the cafes and be able to communicate these to customers, ensuring any queries regarding ingredients or allergens are answered.
- Good working knowledge of our till system, taking orders and processing payments in a friendly manner.
- To work in all aspects of the café, including, customer service, taking orders on the till, clearing and cleaning tables, running food and drink, pot washing, assisting with the opening and closing of the café, and general cleaning tasks.
- To be able to talk to customers about our available speciality coffees.
- Completing daily and weekly cleaning schedules to a high standard as directed and maintaining an excellent level of cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene.
- Follow Health and Safety policies, processes, safe working practices and SFBB standards as shown in the training document.
- Understand and comply with company fire procedures.
- Know who the allocated first aiders are and what to do in an emergency.
- Carry out other duties on a regular or ad hoc basis as required or directed to by the Management team.

- Good understanding of the principles of food hygiene and understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Good time management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work efficiently both on your own initiative and as a part of a team.

- Previous experience in a similar role
