Job Title: SEO Content Writer

Job Summary: We are seeking a talented SEO Content Writer to join our team on a freelance basis for 2 days per week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing SEO optimised content including; blog articles, landing pages, website copy, title tags, meta descriptions and more. You will also ensure that all content produced is engaging, well-written, fact-checked & optimised for search engines. The SEO Content Writer will work closely with the SEO strategist to create content that is informative, entertaining, and SEO-friendly.

We are a forward thinking agency and whilst we do not advocate for AI content alone, we are increasingly incorporating it into our processes to help with productivity.

As well as researching & writing content, you will need editing and proofreading skills to edit first drafts produced by AI. You will work with tools such as originality, to ensure all finalised content passes AI detection at an agreed percentage.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and proofread all content to ensure it meets high standards of quality, readability, and accuracy.
  • Produce written content which is well optimised.
  • Optimise content for search engines, including keyword research, on-page optimisation, and meta tags.
  • On occasion, collaborate with the content provided by clients in-house to create content that is engaging, informative, and aligned with our brand.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends and best practices.
  • Analyse content performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Use data and analytics tools to monitor and report on key performance indicators.
  • [occasionaly] Monitor inbound journalist responses through various tools such as HARO.
  • [occasionaly] Promptly research & write responses for inbound Digital PR.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in SEO content writing.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Good Research skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and techniques.
  • Experience with keyword research and on-page optimisation.
  • [Bonus] Knowledge of inbound Digital PR; HARO, Qwoted, Terkel etc.
  • [Bonus] Knowledge of AI content editing & ability to edit content to pass AI detection tools.
  • [Bonus] Knowledge of basic to intermediate on-page SEO tools: Surfer, Frase, SEMRush, Yoast, Ahrefs etc.
  • [Bonus] Bachelor's degree in writing, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
