Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced freelance photographer who possesses expertise in both portraiture and documentary photography to join our organisation as a Training Facilitator. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by sharing your skills and knowledge with individuals from diverse backgrounds who are eager to learn and grow. Note, this is not a full-time position, however, we are looking for freelancers who have availability within their schedule to deliver workshops.

Responsibilities:

  • Training Delivery:Plan and facilitate photography training sessions that cover both portraiture and documentary techniques.

Provide hands-on guidance and support to diverse learners to help them develop their photography skills.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.

  • Content Development:Create training materials, resources, and assignments that align with the learning objectives.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the training content remains relevant.

  • Feedback and Assessment:Provide constructive feedback to learners to help them improve their photography skills.

Evaluate learners' progress and adjust training methods accordingly.
Throughout each workshop delivered, survey the learners to assess our social impact.

  • Diversity and Inclusion:Embrace and celebrate diversity, and create an inclusive atmosphere that respects and values all learners' backgrounds and perspectives.

Encourage learners to explore and document diverse communities and stories through their photography.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a photographer, with a strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in portraiture and documentary photography.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated understanding of working with diverse populations.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to effectively plan and deliver training sessions.
  • Knowledge of photography software and editing tools is a plus.
