The Role:

Our Client, a large creative agency, is seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Senior Flame Artist who has great creative vision and strong communication and team skills, together with great technical expertise and understanding of VFX.

Applicants must have a minimum of 8 years' experience working as a Flame artist in TV / Commercials and also have extensive experience of running a client attended suite environment. They must be able to break-down and quote on complex VFX projects and be confident in suggesting creative ways to work within a client’s budget.

Candidates must be fully conversant with conform / connected-conform workflows and shot sequence publishing / distribution. They will be fully conversant with the various workflows in Flame, including batch and batchfx. With strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail, they will have the ability to be engaged with multiple projects at the same time.

The ideal candidate will have a full and up to date knowledge and understanding of current broadcast standards and TVC regulations, including Clearcast legal requirements such as the placement of tracking markers, chroma screens and 360 environment capture. Solving creative problems using simple, efficient techniques, sharing ideas with teammates and iterating rapidly, based on client notes. In addition, they must be able to communicate well with Nuke artists as part of their team and provide articulate, helpful feedback to in-house artists.

The successful candidate will possess a professional and presentable image at all times, with strong communication and team working skills and will also have extensive experience of working directly with, and interfacing with, clients. Pitching and quoting for new work, devising clear methodologies outlining your creative approach to a brief, is an essential part of this role.

They will have the ability to confidently engage with clients in pre-production meetings, offering advice & solutions on how to achieve best results and have the ability to react to changes quickly and efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.

They will also be committed to maintaining our Client's own client base and to nurturing their own client network. They must have a demonstrable ability to solve creative problems using simple, efficient techniques, sharing ideas with teammates, as well as iterating rapidly based on client notes, being cooperative with a genuine desire to assist others at all times.

The ability to work in a highly pressured and evolving environment whilst still delivering top quality results is a prerequisite for this position, as is the ability to demonstrate an ongoing record of research and development, both personally and within teams. This may include coding and directing projects, amongst other things.

  • Compositing and 2d project management involving compositing of VFX/CGI elements

Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of Flame and its workflows
  • Expert knowledge of Linux shell navigation and commands
  • Expert knowledge of and full conversance with conform / connected-conform workflows and shot sequence publishing / distribution
