Job description
We have an opportunity to join our independent funeral home located in Chorley, Lancashire on a full-time permanent basis as a Mortuary Technician/Funeral Assistant.
About this Roll:
- The position is Monday to Friday 9:00am till 5:00pm, however you must be flexible to meet the demands of the business
- In addition to the above you will have a place on the out of hours on call rota (discussed in detail at interview)
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the mortuary
- Arranging and assisting the embalming team
- Bringing loved ones into our care from hospitals, nursing homes and private residents
- On going care and dressing of the deceased
- Coffin ordering, collection and furnishing
- Chauffeuring on funerals when required
- Care of the funeral home and general maintenance
Candidate:
- Full clean UK driving license, advanced motoring advantageous
- Well organised, self-motivated with excellent time management skills and able to priorities your workload
- Attention to detail is a must when carrying out detailed instructions
- Interested in helping others as well as sympathetic, caring and tactful when meeting bereaved people
- Dignified and respectful
- Smart and well presented at all times
- Able to deal with other people’s distress and emotions without being affected yourself
- Physically fit, as this role can be physically demanding at times
