!About the opportunity
The Finance Systems Administration Team Member is a new role in our Finance Team, based at our Customer Service Centre in Walsall.
Assisting the Finance System Accountant with maintaining the integrity of the Oracle Finance solution for both Poundland and the Group.
You will become a ‘Super User’ of the Oracle Finance solution and a key member of the team which owns the set-up and maintenance of Finance Master Data. And acts as counsel and an enabler for change improvement opportunities associated with the Oracle Finance solution.
This role comes with the ability to study a relevant qualification through our Apprenticeship programme.
What you'll be doing...
The role offers the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in the area of the Oracle Finance solution. To become a 'super user' you will:
- Set-up and maintenance of the Finance ‘master data’ and business configurations in Oracle Financials. This will include maintaining the GL Mappings and codes, managing foreign exchange rates, accounting calendars and tax codes. The scope of the role covers both Poundland and Group Oracle instances.
- Work with Group colleagues to support financial reporting and budgeting system requirements
- Act as a super user across the Oracle Finance Solution and being a ‘point of contact’ for users across the business.
- Data file mapping and processing.
- On a day to day basis ensuring the integrity of data within Oracle (including interfaces) and having an overview of month end data processes within the Oracle environment.
- Identify users who will require access to the system and work with IT to facilitate this access.
- Assist with the maintenance of the role matrix for user access, ensuring all necessary authorisations are in place and ensuring adequate segregation of duties.
- Support any analysis required to optimise the set-up of business rules
- Involvement in the review of the Software release notes and providing insights to the business on how each of the Quarterly Oracle regular releases will impact both Poundland Group companies and Group entities. Feed into the process for making recommendations on how and when the Oracle releases should be implemented to deliver maximum benefits.
- Assist with the testing of the Oracle releases at time of implementation
What you'll need...
- Ideally part-qualified ACCA or CIMA
- Ability to apply financial reporting knowledge to practical scenarios
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Immaculate attention to detail
- Good organisational skills, drive and commitment
- Oracle Finance SaaS, Oracle EPM SaaS and/or Oracle Merchandising SaaS are highly advantageous
- Retail environment experience an advantage
