ABOUT THE JOB

  • Instrumental in the delivery of a professional, proactive, and effective Finance service to all staff and managers in Sodexo BRS UK.
  • The post holder will support the financial management of the business through maintaining proper accounts and records to ensure that regularity and propriety are achieved to the high standards expected.
  • They will have a key role in the development, implementation and management of Sodexo BRS finance policies and processes.
  • Contributing to the development of the Finance function and taking ownership of processes and reconciliations are key features of the role to help ensure that the accounting function proactively supports the company to achieve its objectives.
  • Responsibility for overseeing the work and development of a team of 8 Accountants, Credit/Accounts Payable Controllers and Finance Executives

Your next challenge:

Context and Main Issues:

  • Process improvement, maximizing the utilization of Business Central.
  • Relevant HMRC reporting guidelines / deadlines.
  • Maintaining data integrity in Business Central.
  • Compliance with Sodexo Group Policies.
  • Maintaining internal controls to internal audit required standard.
  • Team engagement.

Main assignments :

  • Preparation of management information to support decision making as required.
  • Submission and review of additional payroll related liabilities including PSA and P11d.
  • Provide support / knowledge re: preparation, calculation, presentation and payment of VAT.
  • Maintaining and controlling company assets and liabilities including balance sheet account reconciliations and inventory.
  • Responsible for all aspects of credit / debt management including maintaining Credit Policy, Debt monitoring, recovery and reporting.
  • Management of processes surrounding all payments and trade creditors.
  • Calculation of Bad Debt provision in line with relevant accounting standards and Group requirements .
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and Sodexo Group internal compliance procedures including supporting internal audit / internal control reviews.
  • Carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations and recommend improvements.
  • Manage and control month end reporting process in line with agreed timetable.
  • Coaching, mentoring and development with regular one to ones and objectives.
  • Provide cover across the team for holiday and absence.
  • Approval of invoice / credit notes, general ledger journals, vendor payment runs and reconciliations.
  • Manage the annual statutory audit and information requests from auditors for the timely completion of the audit.
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts for all entities.
  • Provide cover for Treasury / banking as required.
  • Carry out other appropriate ad-hoc tasks and projects as directed by Finance Management.

Accountability:

  • Credit and debt management and associated reporting.
  • Ensuring finance team operations are aligned to business process changes and business requirements.
  • Ensuring that key stage finance deadlines in business projects are achieved.
  • Accurate and timely submission of VAT returns.
  • Maintaining required standards for internal controls.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial management.
  • Intellectual with a strong commercial acumen.
