As part of the finance team in Scotland, the successful candidate first and foremost possess great financial acumen. You will have strong analytical and numerical abilities and on top a structured, reliable personality which supports you in planning, executing and prioritising activities. The financial business partner will pay high attention to detail and strive to continuously improve performance. As a proactive team player, you have a good drive, stay focused in a high-pressure environment and prioritise to get the job done.

We expect you to drive business performance, continuous productivity improvements and standardisation across the organisation as well as provide solutions to support business decisions, M&A activities, investment plans and forecasting process.

In addition to this, the key activities of the Finance Business Partners are organized in 3 Levels:

1. Reporting activities

2. Operational insight activities

3. Business development activities

and your roles and responsibilities include the following:

  • Timely and high-quality financial reporting and business analysis.
  • Working alongside the Local Finance team in the monthly management accounts production process
  • Providing data-led insights & analysis to drive business efficiency & profitability.
  • Using financial analysis and forecasting to design and oversee the execution of the budget/forecasting process
  • Act as liaison for local accounting processes with Financial Shared Service Centre.
  • Participate in projects related to new business opportunities & initiatives.
  • Be a part of developing our broader digital development initiatives.
  • Support M&A due diligence and post-integration work

Working 08.30 – 16:30 Mon – Fri, based at our Larkhall site, we will expect you to travel domestically to our various operations when required. We are looking for a professional individual to challenge the status quo at all levels of the organisation, and who has the following qualifications:

  • Educational background in Finance or the like.
  • Active member of an accountancy body.
  • Relevant work experience within finance functions (logistics experience would be advantageous)
  • A track record in driving high performance through teams.
  • Advanced Excel experience.
  • Proven record of analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills being able to work with both management and employees in a large organisation.
  • Open and positive attitude.
  • Outgoing, outspoken and a winning personality
